Osram lamps and LEDvance luminaires are now available through all electrical wholesalers in New Zealand following the acquisition of distributor O-Light by Electrical Supply Corp (ESC).;
For the last four years O-Light has been supplying lighting products from the German manufacturer and introducing the rapidly growing LEDvance range of LED luminaires. Head of O-Light, Rob McKinnon, says LEDvance is one of the two top lighting companies in Europe and now, through ESC, the full range of Osram and LEDvance products is available to the New Zealand lighting market.
McKinnon says since Osram set up LEDvance in 2016 as a new company to develop its general lighting business, the company has released over 3000 LED luminaires. The range covers residential but is particularly strong in commercial lighting segments including office lighting, retail, hospitality and healthcare as well as outdoor and carpark lighting. Industrial lighting solutions are also available.
Now a division of ESC, O-Light is bringing to market not just a broad range of LED luminaires but also intelligent smart home and smart building solutions as well as traditional light sources. Osram-branded halogen, compact and linear fluorescent, HID, incandescent, specialty lamps and advanced LED lamps are now supplied to all wholesalers by ESC.
McKinnon says LEDvance operates in over 140 countries and brings 120 years of lighting knowledge to the New Zealand market.
"LEDvance is one of the fastest growing major luminaire brands in the world and focuses on the professional lighting sector. As the official distribution partner of Osram lamps and LEDvance luminaires in New Zealand we have drawn from LEDvance innovations in the European, North American and Asian catalogues and selected products for our 2021 New Zealand catalogue which is available now."
He says all the products are already online in the O-Light website and ESC has doubled its lighting warehouse space to accommodate up to 600 more pallets of stock.
"As a brand, LEDvance is solution based and uses innovation to drive continual advances in product form and function to deliver higher value. A lot of our focus for luminaires is now on specifiers and design-build projects where our products excel."
McKinnon says his role leading the O-Light team is to market the brand to architects, designers and specifiers while providing product and technical support for electrical contractors and wholesalers.
“We have the right product solutions that are important for contractors who want the reliability and quality synonymous with the Osram brand and heritage. This typically means durable luminaires that perform at higher temperature thresholds, higher efficacy levels and ensure a longer working life.”
For LEDvance, innovation is more than just a concept and delivers real choice for lighting professionals. McKinnon cites the LEDvance industrial range which offers a lighting solution for almost any installation through the use of a selection of drivers, boards, optics and lighting control options.
“This gives lighting designers and contractors all the scope they need for a customised lighting solution via a specification and a simple purchase order. This can add a lot of value to a project without any risk.”
During the lockdown, Steve and his team also reviewed the company website and their ordering system. The website redesign was coupled with a move to get all their products, including compliance documentation, on to their website.
THE COMPLETE OFFER
ESC general manager, Steve Priest, says "with the addition of LEDvance adds to the ESC lighting offer and covers both specifier and wholesale channels to market with end-to-end lighting solutions from design to supply.”
For many years ESC has been supplying Stanilite emergency lighting and Steinel sensors. More recently the company has added the Enhance Lighting operation with its European lighting brands.
Priest says the Enhance Lighting team now has access to the LEDvance ranges and all ESC sales representatives will be promoting Osram lamps and LEDvance fittings to wholesale branches.
“We supply exclusively through wholesalers and now offer the credibility and supply certainty of a major international brand through our two lighting divisions.”
